The coming-up of modern microcontroller technology was a challenge for safetec to design the new cost effective Smoke Detection System SDS, which should be simple to install and easy to operate. First exhibited on the SMM ’94 in Hamburg, the new Smoke Detection System SDS was accepted very quickly by ship-owners, yards and ship suppliers. This was not at least due to safetec’s commitment of excellent service all around the world. Approximately 5000 systems are installed worldwide. Type approvals of all major classification societies are available.
